Description
The lively painting style of the Paubha school beautifully captures the spirit of both Buddhist and Hindu philosophy. Paubha is distinctly based in the Newar populations of the Kathmandu Valley, while frequently being confused with the more well-known Thangka art, which has its origins in Tibetan traditions. Its painting techniques diverge slightly from Thangka's.
Paubha, which is derived from the name "Patrabhattaraka," is a divine art form used to represent gods. Usually, Paubha paintings are made to be worshipped or to be used in rituals for meditations.
Painting a Paubha is an elaborate procedure that frequently takes months to complete a well-decorated masterpiece. Our four-hour program, on the other hand, is made specifically to spread awareness about this hidden form of culture and art while giving participants a firsthand look at the intricate process of adorning a Paubha. In this workshop, you will learn about the Paubha painting technique and begin the process of making your own Paubha, which you may treasure as a one-of-a-kind keepsake.
