Hike to the village of Felak and Pakling - Experience Mustang’s beauty on a day hike

Hike from Lubra to the villages of Pakling and Felak, admiring the dramatic mountain and hill scenery along the way, including views of Mt. Nilgiri and Mt. Tilicho

Hiking is an ideal way to experience the natural and cultural beauty of the Lower Mustang area around Lubra. From Lubra, hike first to the village of Pakling, about 90 minutes’ walk away. After a short rest and some time to explore the small village, continue on to Felak, about three hours’ walk from Pakling. Along the way, admire fantastic views of Mt. Nilgiri (7061 meters) and Mt. Tilicho (7134 metres), as well as the barren rocky landscape and isolated patches of green, cultivated farmland around the villages, and Buddhist chortens dotted around. Have lunch at Felak while admiring the views. The return to Lubra is mostly downhill, so is much quicker than the way up. This is an ideal day out for nature lovers who enjoy moderate exercise, as well as keen photographers seeking the perfect mountain shot.
