Tansen is a fascinating historic town set in the hills a few hours’ drive from Pokhara. Former capital of the Magar kingdom, until the rise of the Shahs, this was one of the most powerful kingdoms in Nepal. Although the power of the Magars waned in the 18th century, Tansen recovered as a Newari trading post on the busy trading route between India and Tibet and in the early 19th century became part of the Kathmandu kingdom.
A complete contrast, you then head to when the hills meet the plains close to Chitwan National Park. Here you stay a night at a Tharu village where you see a very different culture. You are taken to see wildlife and will see typical village life.
The Guide are the local community people mostly women, they have been providing good hospitality to guests and providing them a local experience.Most of the time they are engaged in homestay activities and act as local guides, guiding visitors on village walks and bike rides. Local men are also their to work as a guide who can take you on hike, cultural program and to perform different activities where they provide full information about the things which are happening around the destination.
